Antisemitism has been rising since October 7th and is present at many university campuses.

In the event that you experience antisemitism or feel uncomfortable here are some broad guidelines for what you should do.

What should I do if I encounter antisemitism on campus?

1. Prioritize Safety: Firstly, prioritize your own safety and well-being and those around you. If you feel threatened or unsafe, do not hesitate to seek assistance from campus security or local law enforcement authorities.

2. Document the Incident: Keep a detailed record of any antisemitic incidents, noting dates, times, locations, and individuals involved. This documentation will be valuable when reporting the incident. Photograph or video the incident if you feel safe to do so.

3. Report to CSG:  Report what happened to you to CSG who will assist in urgent situations but even if you do not need their immediate assistance, it is important to record the incident with them so they can monitor ongoing antisemitism.

4. Talk to others: If you feel safe and comfortable doing so, engage in constructive dialogue with the individuals or groups involved to educate them about the impact of antisemitism and promote understanding and respect.

5. Join others: Consider joining groups that support Jewish Students such as AUJS who are organizing educational events, workshops, or discussions to raise awareness about antisemitism and promote inclusivity and tolerance on campus.
